Nate Grey is going to make an appearance in the WHAT IF? X-MEN AGE OF APOCALYPSE one shot. Please support it. Good sales might convince Joe Quesada to bring back X-MAN.

Manila, NCR Philippines - Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 01:14:07 (PST)
Quesada isn't that opposed to resurrect X-Man as a supporting character. However, due to the sheer complexity of his history for the casual X-Men reader, it's unlikely we'll see him return for few more years at least.
If X-Man does come back, he needs to be re-established in being one of the most powerful mutants (ahead of him are Franklin Richards, Mad Jim Jaspers, Scarlet Witch, and arguably New Sun), be it be a boost or a revelation about the extent of (or lack of thereof) his powers.
If Nate does come back at Shaman capacity, he definitely needs to meet and interact with the Omniversal Guardian -- Roma -- and co.

I've got a hot dog and the only sauce is more of that Worchestire. X-Man should be protector of the multiverse... you need someone with him along the lines of Jim Starlin or J.M. DeMatteis.. something densely plotted instead of these vapid insipid stretched out stories intended for trade paperback. Have stories that re-interpret Terry Kavanagh's run and add more lustre to that directionless period.. get inside Nate so the pre-Counter X issues can be re-read in a new light.. show how an almost god-like being with the mind of a boy handles the 'with great power...' thing. Use the re-constituted Nate with an aspect of Mar-Vell to get Nate out of the tangle of X-Men lore and put him on par with Jim Starlin's Captain Marvel and Warlock plus Alan Moore's Captain Britain.. cosmically aware protector of the multiverse. I don't think a rescurrected Nate will fly long under Joe Quesada's vanilla flavoured reign but the possibilities for Nate are endless.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more of that Nate. You really need to get a writer who can get a handle on the character without him off.. What is it with Marvel and killing off cosmically aware characters and the like? does Marvel really believe the multiverse concept is so hard for American's kids and adults to grasp? DC was a stagnant pond after Crisis.. why not just leave Earth 1 and 2?? is it really that had to grasp the idea of JLA being on one earth and JSA on another?? I think ppl who put continuity over story are anal retentive bores which is why it would be good to have an X-Man to clear up continuity errors whilst policing the multiverse and just get rid of some appalling stories.. retcon the return of Norman Osbourn, get rid of Teen Iron Man, make sure Team America never happened.. stuff like that.. have a cross company biff with Superboy Prime and blame the changes (for the better) to Marvel on him smacking the wall between the Marvel and DC Universe whilst having a feud with X-Man.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more of that Nate. I think the introduced incarnations of Nate that have departed in a physical sense should have their collective consciousness' fused together to form the Marvel version of the Beyonder it's okay to like... add in the disembodied consciousness of Mar-Vell.. or an aspect of him purged from Eon. Make him protector of the multiverse, errand boy for the Watchers.

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more of that Nate. Fact is that Kavanagh's run was heavily slammed by critics, notably Paul O'Brien, and people would much rather take an opinion of someone else than sit down, read and come to their own independant conclusion based on personal experience. Most of the detractors of Nate tend to skip the Counter-X issues and just mouth off about Kavanagh's run..

Nate iz da man! How could they kill the book. They have junk titles and no X-Man! He should be a major player inthe Marvel Universe by now. Did they not realize how great a thing they had with him. He could touch all aspects of Marvel with no rules limiting the friend or foe scenario. Also, he had my vote as the baddest there was on the scene. Not hamperd by the leagacy virus, body could not handle the power....Great stuff. Hi, I just opened the X-Man/Nate Grey fanlisting. You can check it out here: http://clinically-cynical.com/nate.html
If you're unfamiliar with fanlistings, it is a simple site that lists the fans of a certain subject. All fanlistings linked together from thefanlistings.org and you must go through an approval process in order to run one. Anyway, it's handy in seeing how many fans there are of a given subject. Please join if you're interested!

No rumor. I haven't read comics due to the hype of hollywood corrupting the comics I'd read from childhood. Yeah, the X-Men movies ARE great, but the attention brought way too many bandwagon fans and messed everything up. X-Man in specific was a victim of the lethal bandwagon. Nate is Cable without the T.O. virus, supposedly third on the mutant power chain after Pheonix(Jean or Rachel Summers) and Franklin Richards. To understand the troubles overcome by those two, look them up in wikipedia( I love you Wikipedia). Nate hasn't been around nearly as long as those two(which, according to days of future past, are Nate's sister & brother and law)but is way powerful(not to mention cool)enough to be a mainstay in the Marvel Universe. Should any Marvel, or if I'm truly lucky, an X-writer read this, bring back X-Man. You deemed him "cool" enough to save from the AOA universe, please re-write him to come back and be cool enough to re-inhabit the regular Marvel Universe. MAKE MINE MARVEL(thanks Stan & Jack, for everything) REX

Yeah...Joe Quesada is a total a**h*le, he gave their own titles to Rogue, Gambit,Mistique and such...created Wolverina (HA, HA) X-23, and is forcing Wolverine down our throats as if he´s the only Marvel Character...I hate Quesada, when he took over Marvel after Harras left, he cut X Man without hesitation, sales were lifting, the book was impressive (Warren Ellis weird but cool concepts) so you have to hate Mr Joe Quesada. Will: you are doing right collecting old issues, new stuff is just crap (My personal opinion) Araña? What tha hell is that!!??
There are a 10 year aniversary special editions, 6 issues in total of the Age of Apocalypse, I had hopes we would see something of Nate there, nah! I used to buy exiles also, out of blink, Morph and Nocturne which by the way is out of the book, all of the others characters s**ked big time, hey but wait! There has been a lot of "special" wolverine appearances...wow how special! why wouldn´t have Nate on at at least 1 issue??? I don´t know why, to me Nate was way more interesting than Cable, he had lots of possibilities...
I guess ther are few chances of seeing Nate Grey again, so I can positively tell you that unfortunately there aren´t any updates on the X Man, sorry

This is so sad. Why waste your time doing stuff like this when it is supposed to be about X-Man? I'm not a diehard fan or anything, but this is just pitiful. People wasting their times to aggravate others when they could be doing something that can genuinely be fun. You're deluding yourselves to THINK that this is fun. All it is doing is promoting insults, which is pointless. Who really cares what you think about them? Who should for that matter?
Anywho, I don't think this is a rumor, but more of a question... Do you think with the Dark Phoenix in X-3 that they'll put more into Wolverine? It seems they like to develop that character in every movie. Maybe, they'll reveal that his claws are just adamantium encased? What do you think? :)

I think X-man would have been the greatest character in the X-men if not for the defect in his genes that causes constant burn outs. Come on, X-man could have been better; he was a telekinetic of the highest order who could have restructured his genewith his powers or enlisted the help of someone equally powerful eg Phoenix, to do it for him. Having a death sentence which meant dying at the onset of manhood hanging over his head wasn't especially good too. I have a proposition for Marvel comics and I'm sure most people would agree with me unanimously on it: Bring back X-man from the dead or wherever he is; get someone to alter his genetic make up to avoid him burning out his powers or himself so he can achieve godhood like he is destined to do(Mr.Sinister would do it for a price though);create an evil doppelganger who is a composite of Mr.Sinister and X-man(it's been proven that Essex's genes are clean and can bring out well desired mutations in the X-men 2099 series)and finally, I want to see a face-off between a fully powered up X-man and a resurrected Legion( a battle that will rock the physical and astral plane. Is that too much to ask for? To anyone who disagrees with me, it's just my dream for Nate to be the greatest character in the X-men and not some tool in the hands of his creators. I say "Marvel, give us what we want". I'm out.

I think that is very good idea.i think that if nate was to return then he would need to some brand new powers.i think that the whole telepathy thing has gotten old. There are to many people with that power.I think if nate came back he should have powers like rogue.I think that seeing nate hit someone with his fist instead of that whole use my mind thing would be more exciting.I like nate but come on it was just getting a little boring even before the whole shaman thing. It was still good but i just wanted to see nate lose a battle.Well he did lose a fight when he was that boring shaman but that isn't nate that we all know and remember.Well anyway this getting long so i am out.Tell me what you all think.

Hi everyone.
Hey, Nate Gray has his fans even in Russia. It's a pity we have to read scanned comics. This industry is only developing in our country. Only Ultimate titles are printed.
Not long ago I've got all X-man issues and red them. I really liked this character. When Nate turned into shaman or somethig it became very boreing to read about his adventures.
It's intrersting to say, that I hate telepaths (prof X is the worst) and many of Marvel's realities. Only AoA and DotFP are interesting ones.
We have Marvel RPG on the site, dedicated to X-men. I wanted to play for Nate Grey there. My idea was, that shanman Nate wasn't the real Nate from AoA. He was original Nate-988. They didn't change their bodies, they only ganed memories of each other, that's why Nate changed so much after return. When Quin Jean tried to Kill AoA Nate, he was able to escape and later was founded by Exiles. As he didn't remember whome he was and lost nerely all his powers he travelled with them for some time. After they stopped in 616 Earth Madelyn appeared in his dream, telling him about what's happened and his life. Maddy died during the psi-war.
Don't you think that this is the best time for Nate to appear in the main reality with all this split of X-men. I think that he could become a great alias to X-treme X-men with all their ideas. And what a great line with prof and Nate quarreling about profs new ideals. (Nate can think, that Xavier can become a new Apocalipsys!).
Nate and Blink is a great couple. But maybe Threnody will return, wanting Nate back? And Nate loves Blink already! Here is the personal life. And all the changes with his "parents" - dark side of Cyclops or Jean-Phoenix?
As he don't have all his povers, how he can ovecome all these problems?
What can you say about it?

Don't really have a rumor, but rather an observation. What happened to this book? When I was in college and it first came out it was AWESOME!! I never really had much of a taste for CABLE before 1995's Age of Apocalypse storyline, but after reading about what a Dayspring unhampered by the Techno-Organic virus could do... I took a serious interest (as many others did too hence the interest in books like ADVENTURES OF CYCLOPS AND PHOENIX, RISE OF APOCALYPSE, etc.,). Somewhere along the line they just screwed this up... Nate became a Shaman? The art was complete drivel... I wouldn't even pick it up off the racks anymore... what the hell happened? He was poised to become a SERIOUS addition to the X-MEN or X-FORCE (what the hell happened to that book by the way?!?!). Instead they killed him... what a mess...

I agree that the ending was rather abrupt, but the cancellation was announced in the middle of an arc. Grant, probably, decided to finish the arc regardless of the cancellation. I have a feeling that Nate might return someday, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. Mr. Grant used to post on here, but I doubt that he will come back to this board.
I'm will to discuss the old Nate plots for as long as you are.

I think that there might be a very small chance that nate might return but at this point i don't really care. After reading the last issue that was poorly written just made me out with grant for putting together a story that came out the middle of nowhere. It would have made more sense to build up to that point where nate merges himself with earth to stop some villian that has never been seen brfore and with any luck will never be seen again.Nate might be gone for good but he still has a kid out there in the main marvel universe so i want to know what happen to that kid and Threnody.I bet the kids is boy and most likely not named after his father.Marvel did said in the letter part of a old X-man book that the kid wasn't nate's but in issue 58 tell another story leaving us in open space. One can only hope. One last thing mister grant if you are reading this i want to know that your writing sucked on the last issue.

X-MAN was not selling well at well as the 50's (issue 50-61 more specifically). Marvel, under the old management (Harras), wanted to boost sales, so they put Warren Ellis and Steve Grant on the book. They succeeded and boosted sales; however, Marvel came under new management, and Joe Quesada, who is very narrow-minded, decided to cancel X-MAN, Mutant-X, and Generation X, in spite of their relatively stable sales. Quesada said that the AOA characters didn't make since to him and needed to forgotten. Quesada doesn't make since to me, and I think that he needs to be forgotten. He ruined a perfect company.

I agree. I miss Nate Grey and the other AOA refugees. Although the fact that this board is still operational gives me hope that Nate will someday return, it somewhat depresses me when I am reminded of the excitement that I felt when I read X-MAN and eagerly awaited new issues. Jemas and Quesada messed up the X-titles, as I no longer collect them. Blink is the only link to the AOA for me and other AOA fans. This will probably be my last post. Goodbye. Anyone can e-mail me, if they want; I will always think of Nate.

A lot of mutants were killed off in Marvel but i'd say X-Man has one of the most fans...and comic fans are what -ran- marvel [now, movie fans run marvel]. I've read many comics and loved the Fox Kids X-Men and Spider-Man series. I just think other mutants in the marvel universe is boring compared to X-Man, if more people feel the way i do...they should definitely add him to a movie or series starting from his birth in the alternate universe. If you know anything about X-Man or if you're a fan you would prolly agree with me. Businesses make money at the cost of its fans...movies such as X2 and The Hulk sure made Marvel some money...but what about us [ the fans that existed before Marvel made movies ]. I think X-Men cartoons and old comic lines like X-Man should be RESSURECTED.

Actually, just the inhabitants of Earth 616. :)

Not really that complicated for dedicated writers ^_^ But yeah, not been heard from officially for years.

Ok, he's pretty much dead. But, maybe a movie or TV series could produce interest.

I wouldn't say that it would be impossible, if they did a movie or tv series based on Nate Grey, they could start from the beginning. Start out with his origin and continue from there.

actually, I didnt complete my collection until a few years past when the series had ended. I aquired the last 25 issues some time a while back, and I must say that the X Man series was at teh peak of what marvel had originally intended to more deeply explore in around issue 66 or so, if you dont know about the flashback thingie thang do you?. AND ANOTHER THING:::
X-MAN is the most powerfull mutant on earth. they said magneto was powerfull because he can fly and move metals, well x-man can fly and move ANYTHING. he can control minds and seek info in ppls minds. how the hell can he just die off? NOTE TO ALL, THIS IS MY THEORY NOTE TO ALL THIS IS MY THEORY NOTE TO ALL THIS IS MY THEORY. :::::::::::::
I said that over and over because what i am about to say is the most important passage you will read on any X-Man site about his death. The real reason X-Man was killed is simple - after issue 30, the X-Man comicline had new writers and artists [not as good as the older writers and artists]. They really sucked and ppl didn't really buy X-Man comics anymore. Well they still had to pay the sucky writers and artists right? how would they get the money?? exactly, bunkrupt they went. that is why they killed off x-man with some stupid shit. THINK ABOUT IT GUYS AND GALS, A MOVIE WITH X-MAN...where the mutant flies, has vast powers...that would sell if done correctly with the casting and special effects.

sup everyone, i would like to express my pissed off-ness at how they not only killed x-man but how his comics started to have crappy writers and pencilers [after issue 30, i think] Marvel has also killed off cable. this is all old news but marvel u piece of shit u just wana get money off movies..what about us X-Man fans? i fuckin love x-man and cable, marvel isn't the same. being an ex-avid comic book reader [ex because marvel sucks now] i have to say X-Man is the best.
p.s. = The X-men movie line sucks too, i mean rogue isn't super strong, where the hell is gambit or beast? wolverine was always like 5'6 in the comics..etc.

i think that the movie will be about the computer game wolverines revenge. the storyline in it is that wolverin has to get rid of a virus inside his body that will destroy his nerv system if he will not get rid of it in 48 hours. why do i think the movie will be about the game? i will tell you why: 1.in the game you have to return to the place where the steel skeleton has been puted inside wolverines body, and thats what doctor X tells wolverin to do in the end of the first movie. 2.the last boss is lady deathstrike( a women that turned herself to a cyborg) and in a comertial for x man 2 i saw wolverin fighting lady deathstrike. 3. the game is all about wolverin and the movie is also all about wolverin

Quick question...
An ex-girlfriend gave me this little cut out picture once, I?m pretty sure it was from an x-man comic.
It showed Nate Grey jumping in front of this orange blast thing (he goes, ?look out, ooomphh!?), and then there?s some chick on the side going, ?nate, no!!!?
It looked pretty cool on my fridge, cause my name?s nate and all.
Anyways, an unfortunate orange juice accident obliterated my (getting pretty beat up anyway) cutout... was wondering if anyone had it scanned in? jpeg or somethin? Or where I might find it?
Or if you guys have got any other (cooler lookin) frames, you know, ?My name?s nate and you're already a dead man...? Or something like that...
Thanks heaps fellas

Yeah, just in case anyone is interested, here's the sets of cards I have found that have X-Man in them:
Fleer Ultra X-men chromium (96 I believe): he's got a regular card and an Alternate X embossed card
Fleer Ultra Onslaught: He's got three cards: a regular, one called "X-Man No More" and a hologram card, mirage 3 of 3, that shows him, Onsluaght, and Prof X (I haven't been able to find this one anywhere!)
Marvel Masterpieces 96: One of him fighting Dark Beast. I cannot find even this set for the life of me!
Spiderman Premium 96: There was a preview card for the Onslaught series of him, # 7 of 9. I have NO idea how to even search for this card
X-Men Timelines (97): a regular card of him
Marvel Creator's Collection (98) there were three cards from the X-Man comic, featuring him, Maddie, and the Purple Man (I just ordered that whole set)
Overpower: whatever cards there are of him
So there's the research I've done. Phew! No one is probably interested at all, but if anyone knows of any cards to add to this, I would appreciate your help! And Kam, you rawk. Thanks for your quick responses. :)

[Also, on the Marvel Chronology Project, it says X-Man is in a comic called Maximum Security 1. I have never heard of that comic! What is? Anyone know?]
Maximum Security was a small story arc that invloved the Earth becoming a prison for galactic villians. X-Man only had one panel in the entire story. He was fighting off some galactic villain brothers in that panel.
[Now I have another question: does anyone collect X-Men trading cards, or is there a page with lots of lists? You guessed it: I am in search of all the X-Man trading cards, too. I have a few of them; anybody know of any X-Man cards out there and where I can buy them? Please help out! Thank's ya'll, you are wonderful!]
There's only one problem with this request. And that is, too many companies have made Marvel Trade/Game cards. And X-Man is scattered amoungst quite a lot of them. The other thing is, most of these card sets that do have X-Man in them are out of print, or no longer sold.
Your best bet is to scout on Ebay for X-Man cards and look up those game set cards he appears in and then make a search for those game sets to find the other X-Man cards in there. Eg, X-Man is in Overpower cards. Look for Overpower lists.
No really, X-Man really is in Overpower. :) He's as powerful as Phoenix in that game. :)

I've just got a few questions I suppose. I've got every single issue of X-Man and any other appearances of him that I could find, but do any of you have a complete list of every appearance of Nate Grey, besides any of the X-Man comics? Y'know, like any appearance in Cable, etc. The only comics I need with him in them (that I know of) are those Astonishing X-Men mini series ones, the 1-3; he's in that, right? I can't let another day go by without posting something on this board, since that would mean an entire month with no posts!
Geez, don't let my post about Ronald Reagon scare you away.
Nate Grey rules, and will return eventually once Jemas and Quesada are booted States president Ronald Reagan turns 92. He is the first president to live to the age of 92. Reagon was born on February 6, 1911 in Illinois. His family moved to California and he became an actor. He also served briefly in World War II. Reagan was the first professional actor to become president.
Politically, Reagan first identified with the Democrats, casting his first vote for Democratic Presidential nominee Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932. However, he joined Democrats for Eisenhower in 1952 and supported Richard M. Nixon for president in 1960. He formally changed his voter registration to Republican in 1962. In 1964, Reagan made a speech on behalf on Republican presidential nominee Barry Goldwater, drawing more contributions than any other political speech at that time. In 1966, Reagan was elected governor of California over incumbent Pat Brown. He served until 1975. In 1968, Reagan was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, losing to former candidate Richard Nixon. In 1976, he unsuccessfully challenged incumbent president Ford for the Republican presidential nomination and came close to being the first person to defeat an incumbent for their party's presidential nomination since 1884. In 1980, Reagan finally won the Republican presidential nomination and the general election over incumbent president Jimmy Carter. As president, Reagan embarked on a wildly successful economic policy known as Reaganomics. He carried 49 states in his bid for reelection in 1984. Reagan was succeeded by his vice-president George Bush. He currently suffers from alzheimer's, but has the distinction of being the longest living president (breaking the record set by John Adams), and so far the only president to reach 92.
I know that this has nothing to do with X-MAN, but I thought you might want to hear it anyway.

X-Man !76 Version B is being worked on right now. So those that missed out on Version A still get to see !76, but loose out on limited availability of Version A. By the way, the panels are different, so that's why its called Version B, and not just !76.
X-Man !78 is close to half way done.
X-Man !79 Cover is part done.
Lady_Archica's Visualisation Fanfic is nearly half way done.
By the way, X-Man !77 is available now (for those of you that haven't been here a while, or are new). Just scroll down until you see the links for the cover page and the numbered pages.

OK, I've changed the Sketch cover into a Colour one. As you can see from the "skin tone". That isn't Maddie. Who she is, and what role she'll play we'll find out in later issues. (WHEN they come out of course ;) )
If you are going to send me anything, make sure it is smaller than 1MB in size. Otherwise I won't get it.
Point in hand X-Man fanfic readers, from now on, whenever ANY of my comics come out, it is probably a good idea to save them on your computer, as you never know when I might change them and the old one becomes "limited/collectors edition". ^_^

Ugh! Sorry people about pages 17 onwards. It appears the server decided that it should be case sensitive. *sigh*. Anyway, the last remaining pages have been fixed and should be viewable now.
Sorry about the mess. I'll check ALL the links next time I post any comics up now.

Wouldn't it be Earth 611 now? I read X-MAN !76 and I thought it was amazing. I loved the art and the scene with Prof. X and Apocalypse at the end was stunning. I noticed a few inconsisties. How did Nate come back? Where is Mike? Isn't Apocalypse dead?
I think that you mentioned that part of the four issue arch takes place before X-MAN # 75, so that might explain a lot. I hope that you clarify when each issue takes place when the arch is over. I hope that you try to make your comic book as much like Marvel Comics as possible and not leave readers with questions, make it on time and follow continuity. Oh, wait, Marvel does leave readers with questions, rarely makes their comics on time and doesn't always follow continuity. But, I think you see the point that I am trying to make. SOG # 5 will be made one day. I know a text fanfic shouldn't take as long as a graphic fanfic, but I can't decide with direction to take the book. I probably won't use Nate at this point just Mike and Albert and Sheila from SOG # 1-4.
You guys have a great Christmas. Happy Writing, Kam.

For those who missed it here's a reminder of what happened in the last issue.
X-Man !76
The Spiral is showing signs of stress and collapse ever since the attacks on certain Earths by the Higher Entity known as Qabiri. Nate saves Earth after Earth, and finally finds information that leads him right back to Earth 616... to the X-Mansion. There he finds information on where to find the one responsible in one of the Diary's of Destiny. Leaving the holding X-Men battered, Nate flies across the Atlantic to Egypt, where he confronts the one reposible for the trouble, and discovers more than he bargained for...
In the upcoming comic.
X-Man !77
Arriving in Egypt, Nate uncovers a sinister plot to have him captured and imprisoned. Nate is prepared to end the problem that has caused the Spiral so much trouble of late, when he is forced into a fight, he realises he can not hope to win against impossible odds...
Here, hope that helps the speculation. :)

Hmmm... how about... "Why isn't X-Man# !77 up yet?" :)
Uh, the answer to that is embarrisingly, it's hasn't got the lettering done on it. And until I get free time, which is next Friday, to add the lettering, it won't be up till later than next Friday. And before anyone asks, I blame my course works. :)
Story wise, Nate's in the deep end from what I've seen, and I mean in the DEEP end. Oh, and say hello to a old and new friend.
Speculate at own will. :)

I disagree with your assessment of this page. True, this page isn't as active as it was during Nate's series, but it still generates a lot of posters. We are working towards a second series of X-MAN, which I believe will happen on day.
Exiles is a great book. Maybe, the other three AOA survivors will show up in it.

Has anyone read the Earth X trilogy? The latest part Paradise X includes a group of dimension hoppers called the Heralds which comprise of members from possible future realities (like the Wolverine from Days of Future past or Hyperion from the Squadron Supreme or Spider Girl from MC2). Of course you have all heard of Exiles by now. But imagine this; both of these groups appeared after Nate's demise. Shouldn't X-Man be included to at least one of the two groups because after all his Counter-X storylines that included the ideas of reality hopping and correcting appeared mere months before either Exiles or Heralds appeared. And what pisses me off about Exiles (though I collect both it and the Earth-X material) is that marvel promoted (and still promotes) it as a comic book with an original idea. Wow how original is a book that follows the idea that X-Man first came up with. And to think that this book was released almost simultaneously with the cancellation of Nate's title. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Exiles; the stories are very well written and the characterization is wonderful, but if the exiles didn't include an AoA survivor (like Nate), I doubt if I would approach it in the first place since I have almost everything related to that reality. But if I hadn't approached it, i'd probably miss out on a very good book. It's just that Marvel is all about revamping it's titles right now, and I would be one of the first people wanting to see Nate return although it's kind of impossible anymore since he doesn't exist anymore.

I miss the old days when I used to look foward to new issues of X-MAN. X-MAN was a cool comic until about issue # 34. Kavanagh frequently started plots without finishing them and brought it obscure villians from other comics.
I liked the other AOA characters.
I hope that they show up in Exiles.

Has anybody read the new CAPTAIN MARVEL #1? Mar-vell and Nate Grey have a lot in common. Both where born by the miracles of science and their growth accelerated. Captain Marvel can manipulate photonic energy while X-Man has psionic powers. XM has telekinesis while CM has cosmic awareness. X-Man became popular because of the Age of Apocalypse storyline while Captain Marvel came out after Avengers Forever. So how come Marvel put X-Man in limbo while Captain Marvel is getting a relaunch?
Damn, I wish I had a Forever Crystal so that I could put Peter David or Kurt Busiek or any decent writer and start X-MAN all over again.

Great news.
[When will X-MAN!77 be ready, Kam? X-MAN!76 looked great.]
I'll be releasing a Black and White Sketch Line comic of X-Man !77 during late September, mid October (this year ^_^). Depending on demand, the faster the colour version will come after it. As it currently stands, I've got my mind set on releasing B/W Sketch Line comics first and the coloured in versions later. Of course, this could change if people wanted it.

Hey people, as some of you know, I worked on a X-Man fanfic comic. 1st Issue released last year, stopped official distribution during 2nd qtr this year. Some of you looked at it, some of you didn't. What I want to ask some of you who looked at it is, whether you want to see a page by page release for any future stuff I release (quicker, but spoils some future pages), or a complete 23 page comic release (slower, doesn't spoil future pages), and whether I should release them Black and White outline (quicker), or full colour (slower, looks a LOT better in most cases).
Thanks people.
By the way, sorry about the stupidly long delay about the next release, I lost the original part pieces for the 2nd comic and have been busy since. But I'm back on it now.
Lady Archica, I've restarted working on a graphical representation of your work, do I still have permission to do such work and release it? Possibly finished December (Slow, I know, but bear with me while I get back into gear).
Moleman (if you're still here), I'm afraid I can't do any complete comics with your work till at least March 2003. But I can make some covers for all four chapters. Do I have permission to go with that? (And again, it'll be slow, till I get back into gear)

Hey chill out!
Here I am again moaning about not seeing Nate the Great in the stands and not having real hope to watch that happening...but it is good to see this board growing up on comments(Kind o´slow but still active)
I don´t know if any of you happend to read the old good X men series, like the post Phoenix era (Inferno, how about that!), Chris Claremont an stuff, the characters were so good, the stories so strong, you just got hooked on and on, I didn´t care that some geeks called me "The Junk comic junkie" I never cared at all what any one has to say ´bout me, well every one has it opinions, the point is, yeah current management at Marvel really sucks, yeah, bring back Nate, what ever version you want would be better than nothing at all, but, Vintage Nate is the the best, yeah Warren Ellis is a genious, that´s for sure, but I agree with someone down below I never understood why the series kind of got out of continuity and balance, there were many plots unsolved, Was Threnody´s child Nate´s son? What ta f++k happened to Hell Fire Club? Did Selene went soft after Maddie left....?
Well I need to say that I really enjoyed when Nate took care of the Gauntlet at the Counter X version, I allways felt he needed to kick some butt, always used by other character´s greedy goals, but again, when the old times Nate lacked on some, the Shaman lacked on personality, any way, then after all these year, I still can´t believe how they (Marvel) had thrown away one their Greatest characters, I have lost all hope to see anything happening after the AOA and Onslaught Sagas, all recent plots are just boring, I have to go back to myself and to my old Hatebreed and Cold as Life CD´s, looking for some personality, why do I feel this way, man I wish I was a millionaire to buy Nate´s copyrights, I will put Sckroce and Cruz, with some old guy like claremont for special Team up, and would probably get Ross, Loeb and Ellis smoke some pot togheter and see waht happens...I recently watched Minority´s Report film and it felt somehow related, in a subtle way to our hero, maybe Tom Cruise (!!!) on Nate´s rol? Maybe I should have some sleep, keep rocking hey Archika(Opps! did I write it right?) your drawings are cool! Jerod my man I enjoyed your comments, peace

What do you think of Exiles? Who is Sasquatch in our reality? What was your favorite X-MAN story-line? I like to ask every poster these questions, so if someone else wants to answer feel free.
Kam, maybe the Time Broker is one of the "Higher Beings" mentioned in X-MAN # 74. It would make a good storyline if he had to kill the Exiles, but couldn't destroy the Earth they were on because he couldn't destroy the Tallus.
He would make a good recurring villian for the team.
However, you are 100% right about Marvel being unwilling to use X-MAN material.

Oh, right. I won't need to find it then, already have numerous first edition copties of the first four already :) Thanks for the info.

He might have something to say about a group of mutants hopping realities. I hope that it is revealed that he has something to do with these "errors in time". It would also be good to see them visit Earth 998.]
I stopped after the fourth issue, as getting the comic meant I had to go out for 2 hours just to get one comic. Wasn't a good way to spend time.
Qabiri in Exiles? I like that idea, but two main things are gonna prevent that from happening. Qabiri was X-Man material and Marvel seems to want to have everyone forget him and his material. And Qabiri will likely slaughter the bunch of exiles. Team or no team, the power he wielded (though blindly in some sense) was able to blow up planets with ease and then hop to another world. Even Nate would have trouble destroying a world AND hop to another world afterwards. And Nate is one of the most powerful beings on the planet. But I suppose we can have him lecture the exiles instead! :)
Keeping the board moving.

Just wondering. Was the first issue done in gold covering?? If so then my collection is not complete. Must find! :) Could anyone tell me more about it? As I was only ever offered the Normal cover you can see here on this site. (Yes, even by my comic store when it first came out)
[you could never guess what was gonna happen next]
Don't tell me you knew about the killing of the broken mans children and those massive beings in X-Man 74 before we did? :p :)
Seriously though now, I understand what you're saying and agree. That the development was on Nate and not on the story (ala Shaman Nate). Just making sure everyone sees it that way.
As for myself, I still hold the lack of development on Nate during the Shaman phase due to Marvel axing the comic. I mean, when the thing you're working on gets axed, you do what you can with what time left and make it good. And with what Steven Grant et al had, I think it was pretty good (He even made the last comic double size when it should have been normal 32 page). X-Man would have got the Axe whether he was in re-done in shaman or not, as I said some of the current mangement at Marvel have this thing against the X-Man title. And the sales even went steady if not up during shaman phase, which is what Marvel directors care about. But they still axed it. So don't judge the theme entirely before it gets finished. Which it won't now of course, but just keep an open mind about what it could have been. Because we can always nitpik about bad things, but can easily fail to see the good things :)
One final thing, thanks to everyone who went to see my graphical fanfic online (as bad as it was :) Those that may still have those pictures stored on their computers will have collectors material, as those pages are being replaced with (hopefully) superior renditions.

[The regular-non-shaman Nate was the better character, but Shaman-Nate had more direction. I would like to see Nate Grey return with the agenda that he had as a shaman, but eating, sleeping, wearing shoes, etc. like a normal person.]
I was wondering... can Nate with the direction in actually come back in the current time? I mean, everyone has their "enemies" or "purpose", Cable/Apocalypse, Phoenix+Cyclops/Sinister, Thanos with killing everyone, etc.... Can we really fit Nate back into the current time? Where can we fit him? (For the direction or enemy) As it seems pretty full using this current time and adding more to the current roster in Marvel Universe is just gonna make things too crowded.
So what I'm asing is, Should we bring Nate back in years later? When other threats and purposes can be filled in by one such as Nate? And Nate is with the "next generation"? Where Xavier is/or very soon to die of old age? Cyclops, Phoenix in their 50's/60's?
Just my thoughts on this.
Boy this board, really IS moving recently :)

I do agree with Grendelswar on. The shaman Nate was a wonderful take on the character. It only had the misfortune of having a very short lifespan ( i have since quit marvel since they gave up on the character ). given time, grant and ellis could have made the book the best in the x-universe. i can underst
